Living Stones

Have you ever tried to grow Lithops, otherwise known as living stones? I gave it a whirl a couple years ago, but it didn't go well. I'm not certain what the problem was
My watering was far too generous and they rotted. So now that I have indoor plants as my only gardening outlet, I decided another lithop trial is in order. Here's the bag that arrived after I bought my lithops from a seller on Etsy.

For a pot I decided to try this cute, depression glass chicken feeder. Lack of drainage holes is no concern to me since I won't be keeping these outdoors at all, thus I control all the water they get.

The seller had the six varieties wrapped up nicely...
...very attractive group!
I put my own cactus soil mix in the waterer...
...there! I was disappointed that only one actually fit in here, though.
So most of the others got paired up with some of my cacti, though I did find this cute pink planter to use for a couple more.
I'm a little worried that I don't have enough direct light for lithops, because the info I've found says that's what they want. But my cacti are all doing fine with direct-yet-sheet-filtered light...

...fingers crossed that the lithops agree!
